Many registrars have hidden costs and fees, charging for a variety of “features” that others provide for free, such as transfer fees, administration fees, and privacy fees. Some registrars even subsidise your registration fees by selling your personal data to third parties.

It is not possible to register a domain name for life. ICANN, the authority that manages domain names, only allows domain names to be registered for a maximum term of 10 years.
